Learn STEM Through the Power of Flight

FlyToLearn.Africa is an educational initiative dedicated to inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, pilots, innovators, and problem-solvers through aviation-based STEM education. Our curriculum is based on the internationally recognized Fly to Learn program developed by aviation educator Mike Dubick, whose innovative approach has helped students discover the excitement of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through the experience of virtual flight.

Having been trained in the Fly to Learn methodology and equipped with the necessary instructional software and educational resources, FlyToLearn.Africa seeks to bring this proven learning experience to students, schools, educators, community organizations, and aviation enthusiasts throughout Africa.

Students learn by doing. Through computer-based flight simulation and structured STEM activities, participants develop practical knowledge in areas such as:

  • Principles of flight and aerodynamics
  • Aviation history and aerospace careers
  • Physics in real-world applications
  • Mathematics through navigation and flight planning
  • Geography and mapping
  • Weather and meteorology
  • Engineering design and problem solving
  • Computer technology and simulation
  • Critical thinking and decision-making
  • Teamwork, communication, and leadership

Standard Learning Experience

Programs may include:

  • Introduction to aviation and aerospace
  • Flight simulator orientation
  • Aircraft controls and flight instruments
  • Basic takeoffs, landings, and navigation
  • Flight planning exercises
  • Weather interpretation
  • STEM classroom projects

Our Vision

Our vision is to make high-quality aviation STEM education accessible throughout Africa by combining proven educational methods with modern technology. Aviation is more than learning to flyβ€”it is a gateway to understanding science, mathematics, engineering, technology, geography, and global citizenship.

By introducing students to aviation in an engaging and interactive environment, FlyToLearn.Africa helps cultivate curiosity, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong passion for learning.

FlyToLearn.Africa proudly acknowledges that its educational curriculum is based upon the Fly to Learn program developed by Mike Dubick. Our goal is to faithfully present these educational principles while expanding opportunities for students across Africa through local instruction, outreach, and community partnerships.
